Our Mother Earth was created from the minerals and dust from the lava of Sun 4.54 million years ago. Due to the large content of iron particles present in the form of solid and molten state in our Earth, it has a magnificent magnetic property. The North Pole emits the positive magnetic energy and the South Pole performs the Negative part receiving this energy. Hence, our Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field all over its mass.
If we break a small magnet into pieces, each part will get its own North and South poles and start acting as an individual magnet. Similarly, when the Earth is divided into small parts as an individual property, every division will attain a magnetic field having its own North and South Pole. As the buildings are constructed with the materials containing iron particles as well, this magnetic effect is further magnified. Vastu Shastra applies certain principles to gain from this magnetic force.
The main logic behind almost all the rules of Vastu Shastra depends on these principles: We are traveling along with the Earth with all our belongings towards North-East direction constantly at a speed of 1070 miles or 1670 kilometers per hour. The forward direction is North-East due to the inclination of the Earth. The division of the Earth, constructions buildings and utilization of the buildings shall not be against this motion.
The ideal direction for the kitchen is the south-east corner of the house. However, if that's not possible, the north-west direction can also be considered. The kitchen entrance should face east or north. Colours can significantly impact our mood and emotions.
The sink or any water-related elements in the kitchen should ideally be placed in the north or north-east direction. This is because, in Vastu, the north-east is associated with the water element. Distance from Fire Elements: According to Vastu, the elements of fire and water should not mix.
As mentioned before, the element of fire governs the south-east direction. Hence, the stove should always be placed in that direction. Also, the person using the stove should face east, as per kitchen vastu directions, as this is considered to be an auspicious direction.
The bathroom should either be in the North or North West direction in the house. It should never be built in the South, South East or South West direction.
The god should face east, as the rising sun symbolises new beginnings and the potential for spiritual growth. The idol of Lord Vishnu should be in the west direction. The idol of Lord Shiva should be in the north direction. The idol of Lord Ganesha, Durga and Lord Kartikeya should be in the east direction.
North East is considered the best pooja room direction as it is considered the zone of lord shiva and hence, is the most auspicious. This is followed by either east or north.
As per Vastu principles, the best direction to sleep are east and south directions so that the head is towards east or south while the legs point to the west or north. It is also the scientific way to sleep. If it is not possible to sleep facing east or south, you can choose alternative directions – northeast and west. Avoid sleeping with one’s head towards the north direction.
The ideal direction for the wardrobe is the southwest (first choice) or the northwest (second choice) of the house as it ensures the constant flow of money in the household. However, a heavy wardrobe can be placed on the west or south wall. The bedroom doors should open to the north
The overhead tank should always be at the Southwest corner and the sump should always be at the Northeast corner. Then one may enjoy the fruits of Vastu. But don't forget the remaining important things. The bore well has to be dig at the Northeast corner or planned to dig towards East side or North side.
The best location for toilets and bathrooms is the north-west part of the home. 2. Avoid constructing toilets in the south-west direction as this tends to bring about ill-effects. If your toilet happens to be in the south-west direction, you can fix it by using a couple of Vastu remedies
Placing a mirror on the north or east wall in the living room is considered auspicious. It enhances the flow of positive energy and creates a sense of spaciousness. However, always ensure that the mirror does not directly face the main entrance, as this can deflect positive energy
Vastu confirms that if the bedroom mirror faces your bed then it can cause a range of health issues for you and your partner. Therefore, ensure that your mirror always stays away from your bed. To avoid such instances, you can place a bedroom mirror in a small dressing area or it can be right outside your bathroom
The study room should always be facing the east or west direction of the house, north is the second best direction. The child should face east or north while studying and all their rewards and recognitions, certificates, trophies and motivational posters should be displayed on the north or east wall
Build your staircase in the southwest, south, or west part of your home. This holds true for vastu for staircase in east-facing house, north-facing, and west-facing house. Avoid constructing it in any other part, especially the northeast side, as that is believed to result in financial losses for the owner.

Facing the north or east while working is very auspicious and makes you feel fresh. North is a direction of kuber, the god for money, while having a trading work business. If you are a professional or in a service industry the east direction is good.
The main entrance of a house should ideally face northeast, north, east or west, as these directions are considered fortunate. It is advisable to avoid having the main entrance gate in the south, southwest, northwest or southeast directions.
